Manhattan, New York – iMagine machine(TM) today is pleased to introduce Faces iMake HD for iPad, an advancement on the iPhone version of the app that achieved 800,000+ downloads and received the 2010 Parents’ Choice Gold Award, and whose reviewer stated, “Faces iMake is the most entertaining and creatively expressive app for the iPhone I’ve seen.” The app, recognized as an effective tool for stimulating right-brain thinking and out-of-the-box creativity, allows users to assemble creative collages using pictures of everyday objects. For users of all ages and all levels of experience, the app includes photos of more than 200 everyday objects that can be used to create faces.
Faces iMake HD was developed in cooperation with leading artist and educator Hanoch Piven. Piven, whose art has been featured in publications such as Time, The New York Times, and The New Yorker, says about Faces iMake, “I wanted Faces iMake to be a virtual workshop that reflects what happens in the real world when we compose pictures using objects. The process of assembling a collage is one of discovery and play, and Faces iMake is a game as much as it is a workshop of creativity.”
Indeed, integral to the app are six short, built-in instructional videos, where Hanoch Piven talks to kids about art and creativity. He does not appear on camera, but we hear the master artist as he moves actual objects on a colored background to create collages. Last but not least, Faces iMake HD has been recognized as an intuitive tool for children with disabilities. Shannon Des Roches Rosa, editor of The Thinking Person’s Guide to Autism, wrote, “Our kids love Faces iMake … Its interface is one of the best I’ve seen for kids with autism.”
